Zen Community Hub wants as many people as possible to be able to access, understand and use this website.
This accessibility statement applies to the Zen Community Hub website at zencommunityhub.co.uk.
Our accessibility commitment
We are working to make the website clear, inclusive and straightforward to use.
Our aim is to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, currently WCAG 2.2 Level AA, wherever reasonably possible as the website develops.
We want visitors to be able to:
- navigate the website using a keyboard;
- enlarge text without losing important information;
- use the website with screen-reading software;
- understand headings, links and instructions;
- view content with sufficient colour contrast;
- access meaningful alternative text for informative images;
- use the website on desktop, tablet and mobile devices;
- contact us if a particular format or adjustment is needed.
Current accessibility status
This is a new website and has not yet undergone a complete independent accessibility audit.
We are carrying out practical accessibility checks as content and functionality are completed. We therefore do not currently claim that every part of the website fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Known or potential limitations
Some areas may not yet be fully accessible, including:
- alternative text on some older or decorative images may still require review;
- heading levels may not yet be perfectly ordered on every page;
- some third-party forms, embedded services or external websites are outside our direct control;
- keyboard navigation and visible keyboard focus are still being tested;
- colour contrast and text enlargement are still being reviewed across different devices;
- some linked documents or future downloadable resources may require additional formatting;
- automated spam-protection tools may present accessibility difficulties for some users;
- social-media content and external booking or payment services may have their own accessibility limitations.
We are working through these areas as part of the website’s launch and ongoing development.
What to do if you cannot access something
If you cannot access information or use part of this website, please contact us.
Email:
Please tell us:
- which page or feature you were trying to use;
- what difficulty you experienced;
- what device, browser or assistive technology you were using, if you are comfortable providing this;
- what alternative format or support would help.
We will consider your request and aim to respond within 10 working days.
Where reasonably possible, we can provide information in another accessible format or help you access the relevant service in a different way.
Alternative formats
You may contact us to request information in an alternative format, such as:
- a simpler written explanation;
- a larger-text version;
- a plain-text version;
- information provided by email;
- reasonable communication support appropriate to the request.
The formats we can provide will depend on the material and the resources available, but we will make reasonable efforts to help.
Third-party content and services
The website may link to or use services supplied by other organisations, including social-media platforms, spam protection, booking systems, payment providers or embedded content.
We cannot directly control the accessibility of external websites. Where practical, we will consider accessibility when selecting services and will try to offer an alternative route if a third-party service creates a significant barrier.
Reporting an accessibility problem
We welcome feedback about accessibility.
If you find a problem that is not listed in this statement, or believe we are not meeting accessibility requirements, email:
Please use Website accessibility as the subject line.
How we test the website
Our accessibility review may include:
- keyboard-only navigation;
- checking visible keyboard focus;
- testing pages at increased text size and browser zoom;
- checking desktop, tablet and mobile layouts;
- reviewing colour contrast;
- checking link wording and heading structure;
- reviewing alternative text;
- testing forms and error messages;
- using automated accessibility-checking tools;
- testing with representative screen-reader features where possible.
Automated tools cannot identify every accessibility problem, so we also use manual checks.
Ongoing improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-off task.
We will review this statement when:
- the website undergoes a significant redesign;
- important new services or functionality are introduced;
- an accessibility issue is reported;
- testing identifies a new limitation;
- at least once each year.
This statement was first prepared on 14 July 2026.
